Dustin & Katie :: Rancho Santa Fe Wedding

It’s not everyday that you get to shoot a wedding for the former “kid across the street”, whose house you spent years at, playing video games, climbing the tree house, and generally causing trouble.  You always see the little boy, until you realize he has grown into a man, someone who has found an amazing woman to share his life with.  Such was the case a few weeks ago as Erinn and I had the distinct pleasure of shooting the wedding of Dustin and Katie on a beautiful autumn day at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club in Del Mar, just north of San Diego.  Spending the day with people I have literally known my entire life was an incredible experience.  Thank you two for asking us to play such an important role in your happiest of days, and we can’t wait to see what family memories you have yet to create!

One of the cutest “first looks” our clients have ever done!  As you plan your own wedding, a first look is one of the best ways to make your wedding day flow smoothly, and the only way to get some truly unique and memorable photos!

Of course we had to take a spin in Dustin’s restored Mustang convertible, a labor of love with his father that has spanned several long years

Dustin’s dad built this wedding arch, out of stained glass and welded steel, as a surprise wedding gift.  It was an incredible piece of art!

Absolutely perfect, buttery light greeted us after the ceremony, and we got some amazing shots with the bride and groom literally minutes before the fog rolled in

It wouldn’t be a real party unless there was a dance-off, and a little cake smashing!

Matt + Karen :: Temecula Wedding

It was a match made in heaven, and this wedding had been a long time coming.  Matt and Karen were ready to become one, to start their next life together as husband and wife, and on a gorgeous October day, they said “I do” in front of friends and family in a beautiful setting.  The couple decided to do a “first look”, which we highly encourage for all of our wedding clients, as it allows you to create some amazing images together, before the hustle and bustle of the rest of the day.  We took Matt and Karen up to the Santa Rosa Plateau, a beautiful nature preserve that was calling our name all morning.  Their first look was the cutest thing ever, as Karen teased Matt for a good couple minutes before allowing him to turn around and see how beautiful she looked.  Their ceremony and reception took place at the wonderful Whispering Oaks Terrace in Temecula, a perfect, intimate venue for a perfect, intimate wedding!  Enjoy the photos!

Michael + Jennifer :: A Huntington Beach Wedding

She glowed with an aura that only a bride can give off on her wedding day. Nothing was going to stop Jennifer from becoming one with the love of her life on this special occasion. Every detail had been planned and executed to perfection. Her gown was right where it was supposed to be, awaiting her arrival. The shoes were ready to be slipped on, the jewelry sparkled alone in the brilliant sunlight. Jennifer’s bold red lipstick echoed of a bygone era, where glamour reigned supreme. As she was escorted down the aisle, toward her new life, her smile beamed and her eyes lit up the room. It was a day full of joy, of laughter and love, and for Jennifer and Mike, it was a day they will never forget! The wonderful Ashley from Agape Planning pulled off an amazing reception at the Nixon Library in Yorba Linda.  Allison with Flower Allie provided the gorgeous bouquets, and Kelly Zhang stepped in at the very last minute to do an incredible makeup job for Jennifer.

Danica + Dylan :: Santa Barbara Day After Session Part 1

It’s great when an already-fantastic destination wedding to Santa Barbara ends with an amazing day-after shoot with an old college friend and her new husband.  Danica and Dylan are the epitome of cool, they oozed hauteness and you could not help but feel the passion between them.  We joined them on a foggy morning in Santa Barbara at a friend’s horse ranch, then moved down to the downtown Santa Barbara area, including State Street and the Santa Barbara County Courthouse, one of the most beautiful locations in all of Southern California.  Thank you guys for being such perfect models, it is so cool to see the both of you in love with life as much as with each other, and you made this an unforgettable weekend.  Looking forward to next time!
