Billy + Creston :: A Rancho Palos Verdes Engagement

We definitely have some of the most stylish couples, and we always love to see two people who come ready to rock a photo shoot in some haute outfits.  When we first saw Billy and Creston, we knew this was going to be one of our best engagement sessions of the year.  Erinn has known Creston since their days at UC Davis, so it was a great chance to catch up on all the old sorority gossip.  But when we suggested to Creston that they come wearing some cool attire, they did not dissapoint!  We met the two of them in downtown Rancho Palos Verdes, one of the ritziest areas of Los Angeles, on a perfect Sunday afternoon.  We explored the streets and back alleys of the small shopping area, then drove south to find some amazing views of the Pacific Ocean.  We cannot wait to shoot their wedding next year at the Berkeley City Club in the Bay Area.

So many things

2009 has been one heckuva year, and looking back, with one month left, the exciting stuff still hasn’t even happened yet.  Hopefully more on that soon!  But on this day before Thanksgiving, it’s definitely time to give thanks to those people and things in my life that have made me who I am today.  First off, no one has had a bigger impact on me than my amazing wife Erinn.  This woman has been my partner from the beginning, the love of my life way before we even dated, and the most incredible wife a man could ask for.  Aside from the fact that she’s an incredibly talented (and now PUBLISHED) photographer, she has made me a better husband, a better man, and a better person in general.  She is right there to make me laugh, make me smile, and make me look forward to all there is to come in our lives together.  She has been the strongest person I know this year, as we have struggled and pushed through a lot together to get into the position we’re in today.  There have been a lot of ups and downs, but through it all, she remained the most beautiful and wonderful woman I have known for so long.  I can’t wait to see what happens before the year’s over!

I have to be thankful for our thriving photography business, which seems to continue growing and growing each year.  We have grown as well as photographers, started our new photography company, and 2010 already looks so promising!  I’m excited to see what we have in store next year!

I’m thankful to live in America, to have the bravest and most selfless people protecting us from our enemies, people who will give their lives to spare the life of a stranger.  No matter how you feel about politics today, you better be there to thank these brave men and women, shake their hand and remember that, without them, our freedoms would never exist.

Finally, I’m thankful to an amazing family that has been so supportive and caring this past year.  You guys have watched us go through so much this year, and with your help and love, it has been possible.  We can see the light at the end of the tunnel and we are so ready to share with you the joyous news next month!

I hope everyone reading this has as much to be thankful for as I do right now.  Everyone deserves a loving family, close friends, and a warm place to go on Thanksgiving day.  Be safe and enjoy a wonderful Turkey Day!

Evan + Marissa :: A Calabasas Wedding

Family is truly what brings us happiness in this world, and when family comes together like those surrounding Evan and Marissa, it makes a wedding oh so much sweeter.  These two lovebirds tied the knot in Calabasas, CA at the local synagogue, and the party raged well into the night at the home of Marissa’s brother.  Every where we looked, there was family, flying in from all over the United States to share in the joy that we were lucky enough to witness.  Because of this strong sense of family, we know the marriage of Evan and Marissa will be long, happy and constantly growing. It was an amazing evening, full of laughs and surprises (thank you MJ!), but in the end, it was the warmth of family and friends that really made it special.

What an amazing location to hold your wedding reception!  And luckily, no one fell in the pool (that we know of!)

Nothing says “Congratulations” from your brother and sister-in-law like a private performance on your wedding day from the one and only Michael Jackson!

Chris + Kristel :: A Rancho Santa Fe Wedding

After years of being apart, waiting their whole lives to find each other, it was only fitting to make them wait just a few more hours.  As the sun slowly set over the Pacific Ocean, Kristel and Chris prepared themselves in their own little ways, once again separated by mere yards.  She meticulously positioned her shoes on her manicured feet, adjusted her sparkling engagement ring one last time, and glowed with the light of a bride about to complete her childhood dream.  He stood tall and proud, anxiously awaiting the reveal of the vision he had in his mind, the radiance she would exude in a matter of minutes.  For these two, it was the perfect day, the perfect way, to celebrate their love for each other.  Picking the most beautiful of locations to get dressed, the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, and the gorgeous Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club for the evening’s festivities, Kristel passed on nothing to make the day as memorable as possible.  And surrounded by their closest friends and family, Kristel and Chris finally became one, a togetherness that no one could ever break apart.

Congratulations you two on celebrating your first of many amazingly happy days of marriage.  Thank you for letting us share in this occasion, it was our honor to capture such memorable moments for you!

Bahram + Neda :: Laguna Beach Engagement Shoot

With every new client we have the pleasure of working with, we learn their quirks, their unique personalities, their amazing qualities.  For many, being photographed by professionals is a new and sometimes nerve-wracking experience, but it never fails that, by the end of the session, they act as if they have spent their whole lives in front of a lens.  When I first met Bahram and his beautiful fiance Neda, it took a little while for them to warm up to the camera, but quickly it became apparent just how much these two loved each other, how much fun they have together, and how amazing their wedding next March is going to be.  I had so much fun walking the streets of downtown Laguna Beach with these two lovebirds, and what better way to cap off a great day of shooting than to have some fun on the sandy beaches of Laguna.
