Billy + Creston :: Berkeley City Club wedding

In love, everything seems new.  New sights, new sounds, new smells, new experiences, new feelings.  When you’re in love with someone, every day seems like a new movie you’ve never seen before, but it feels so familiar just the same.  As you grow old, many things stay the same, yet love still offers that scent, that feeling, that taste of life you’ve yet to experience.  For Billy and Creston, it was the start of new; in a way that honored the old.  Within the friendly walls of the historic Berkeley City Club, where everything seemed ancient, a sense of new rushed over everyone in attendance.  Between the decades-old stone and concrete, below the weathered photographs and paintings, under an invisible blanket of history, something new was being born.  The love Billy and Creston felt for each other made these walls come alive.  The paint seemed just a bit fresher, the plants a little greener.  Everything in the place was there to celebrate.  Celebrate love, a new love that will last for a lifetime.

Thank you Billy and Creston for bringing such joy and happiness to that day.  You two looked incredible, and we cannot wait to see what memories you create in the future!  Thank you to Megan Haney Designs for the amazing flowers, Rachel Zimmerman for the flawless makeup and The Dream Team for the captivating hair styling.

many more!

There was a buzz in the air around downtown Los Angeles, more than just the constant hum of air conditioners, fighting mother nature and her heat. No, this was a special day, as two people were coming together, beginning life anew, hand in hand. Sean and Christina had a long road to this day, and they were going to savor every minute of it. As Christina lovingly wrote a message to her future husband, her girls readied themselves for what was to come. Sean and the boys no doubt were enjoying themselves, fending off the nerves and excitement. Finally it was time, time to reveal the most beautiful bride to her beaming, proud fiance. The result was magical, and it was amazing to be a part of. Sean and Christina exchanged their vows in the traditional Hsi Lai Temple in Hacienda Heights, a facility so expansive and ornate that you couldn’t help but stand in awe of its beauty. The reception was held at the Brunswick Studio in downtown Los Angeles, an amazing loft space in its own right.  These two made the day their own, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

A big thank you to Joe from Joe+Kathrina Photography for assisting me on this wedding!  The amazing wedding coordinator was Jenn Yamauchi, and the hair and makeup was done by the incredibly talented Cicelee Padilla.

Christian + Maureen :: Video Highlights

Here is the incredible Same Day Edit highlights video posted by our good friends over at NR3 Productions from Christian and Maureen’s wedding.  These guys are ridiculously talented, and often rated the top videographers in San Diego each year (again in 2010), so we highly recommend them!

What fun was that! I didn’t know video could be so entertaining.

Christian + Maureen :: San Diego Wedding

The party started bright and early with the arrival of the makeup artists at 4:00am, and the music didn’t stop until well past 11:00pm that night.  When you celebrate passion like Christian and Maureen have for each other, you can’t constrain it to a measly 8, or 12, or 14 hours.  As the sun rose over downtown San Diego, a buzz was in the air at the Hard Rock Hotel, where the wedding parties were feverishly preparing for the amazing day that lay before them.  The ladies put the finishing touches on their makeup, the guys made sure a drink was in hand and their cheap drugstore sunglasses were accounted for.  After a magical First Look atop the Hard Rock, the party took us to Anthology for an afternoon of incredible music and dancing, which went late into the cool San Diego night with a private after-party for family and friends.  Thank you Christian and Maureen for one of the most incredible wedding days we have ever had!  And thanks for joining us the next afternoon for your After Thaute session in Mission Beach!

Joe + Brianne :: A Lake Tahoe Wedding

There is something spectacular about Lake Tahoe.  No matter what time of year, the view of the deep blue lake and surrounding mountains is always breathtaking, it reminds you of how much good there is in the world.  When you get to share such an amazing celebration such as Joe and Brianne’s wedding, on the doorstep of one of God’s greatest creations, you have to remind yourself that you do this for a living.  On the shores of South Lake Tahoe, under a bright sun and soft breeze, these two tied the knot in front of family, friends and dozens of tourists and sun worshipers.  And as the sun made its memorable descent behind the Sierra Nevada range, we looked around at this magical setting, pinched ourselves to make sure it was still real, and we couldn’t help but smile.  What a perfect day.
